PARTNER MINISTRIES
Palliative Care Association of Uganda (PCAU) is the national association for Palliative Care providers across Uganda. It is dedicated to integrating palliative care services within Uganda’s health care system across the country. PCAU assists KCC with palliative care training for staff members, accreditation with Uganda’s ministry of health and donations to assist patients in rural villages (among other assistance).
Africa Palliative Care Association (APCA) is a pan-African organization ensuring that palliative care is widely understood, integrated into health systems at all levels by working with governments and policymakers.
APCA’s three key elements include:
- Information: Increasing knowledge and awareness of palliative care among all stakeholders
- Integration: Strengthening health systems by integrating palliative care at all levels
- Evidence: Building a sound base for palliative care in Africa.
Healthy Charity donates life-saving products that improves the quality of lives for hundreds of families across Africa. These products include solar lamps, water filters, hi-tech low-smoke stoves and free Bible apps in various Ugandan languages. Healthy Charity partnered with KCC and gave 50 packages of the three products to vulnerable patients.
Empower has helped over 3,000 girls stay in school by donating a pack of 4 reusable pads, knickers and a washable bag. Located in a village an hour from Kabale, Empower founders have donated reusable pads for women living with cervical cancer, which has greatly improved their lives.
“It is our commitment to utilize our resources to do more, to do what is right, and to do what we can to increase wellness in our world. Whether it is serving at a local event to teach others how to measure and maintain a healthy blood pressure, serving on the ground with causes that mean the world to us, becoming better stewards of the Earth, or our core initiative to equip modern-day unsung heroes serving on the ground and transforming healthcare for their communities. We believe in #CraftingWellness.”
Mission to Heal exists to bring surgical education to local healthcare practitioners in the most remote areas of the world. Through teaching a variety of basic and intermediate surgical skills, our work has a sustaining effect that enhances the medical capabilities of clinics around the globe.
About our Logo
Our logo symbolizes three people holding hands while surrounding a sunflower, who represents the one in need of compassionate care. Palliative care is beautiful in many ways, including the fact that it involves a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes the patient’s needs while including their family in care. In addition, sunflowers often grow while facing the sun, and it is our goal that the people God entrusts into our care will feel God’s bountiful and all-consuming love and will ultimately face His Son, Jesus, as the only one who can rekindle hope and reduce suffering.
“Those who look to him are radiant” (Psalm 34:5).
“May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13 )
